Problems with Mother in law?

Sounds very familiar! My mother-in-law is the same freakin' way. She claims that she just doesn't know my kids, just hasn't gotten the chance to bond with them. Once a year we camp for a week with her and the rest of the family. She either treats my children with disdain, like there is something yucky about them, ignoring them, and when she can't ignore them, she sends them to bed! (That is, if I'm not looking.) She claims they are "too young" and yet she babysits her other grandaughter who is about the same age as my youngest ALL THE TIME. I gave her the what-for one time, and I suspect you may one day too. Go for it. These are people who don't possess feelings like other's do, so it matters very little to them how a child would feel when Grandma treats them like GARBAGE! You need not spare her feelings, and believe me when I say that even if she cries and pouts or starts a campaign against you, the woman doesn't really have feelings. She's probably a sociopath. And truth told, your child is better off being far away from her manipulative little world.
